⚠ Critical Context: As of late 2025, these codes have moved into the implementation phase. For a Facilities Manager, this is not just a legal update; it is a financial and operational overhaul affecting your security guards, housekeeping staff, and technical maintenance teams.
Q1: Our security and housekeeping vendors structure salaries with low Basic Pay and high "Allowances" to keep PF costs low. Is this still allowed?
A: No. Under the new Code on Wages, the definition of "Wages" has changed.

Facilities Management at Construction stage vs Post handover a difference you'll feel for decades.
We all know what a building should do, perform, protect assets, support people, and last, that is for decades or more.
Yet the gap between design intent and real world operation often appears not in year 1, but in year 5, 10 or 15.
And more often than not, that gap comes down to one simple variable,
YES I AM GOING TO SAY IT AGAIN:
Was Facilities Management involved during construction, or only after handover, just asking for a friend?
When FM is involved during construction you see a very different outcome:

When I was an analyst/supervisor, our team was so obsessed with operational efficiency and cost-cutting initiatives. Fast forward to today; and our biggest concerns are sustainability, workplace experience, and helping the business attain its goals.
